Doll Making – Join us in this exciting experiential component to the free member training where Cynthia Swan will share her creativity and expertise in making Psychedolls.  Each Psychedoll or assemblage art doll is a unique, one-of-a-kind image that captures the imagination and creativity of others.Clients may be drawn to them, or repulsed.  Many use them in sand.  When the doll is seen as a stand-alone projective image, clients tell important stories, are reminded of life’s significant relatives, and memories emerge.  They can also be a desired addition for sacred space or personal altar.  Psychedolls were shown on and a Crafts and Creativity group meet to assemble the miniature doll, quickly becoming a feminine gathering for sharing, support, and creativity  Over the years Psychedolls held the imagination of dream workshop participants; Crafts and Creativity workshops; community building gatherings and an exhibit at the Erie Public Library.  Creating the assemblage art dolls is now a regular activity of those who live In Eagle Place Senior Housing.  A local coffee shop will be exhibiting the assemblage art dolls in the near future.  Creativity and community provide hope, deepen friendships, and supports the creative impulse that gives us Psychedolls.
Cynthia Swan, LPC is passionate and dedicated to providing a context in which clients can overcome obstacles and create successful connections with Self and others.  As a therapist in private practice, she meets with those who are in emotional distress, relationship conflicts, or are on a journey to “find congruence with their inner gold”.  She offers Sand Tray methods with adults and sees significant shifts emerge among those who engage with the sand.Case Consultation – With facilitators Laurel Howe MS, STA-T and Shannon Yockey LCSW, STA-Candidate,  We will take an in depth look at case material presented by CSTA members in order to grow in our understanding of the Sandplay Process.  We will explore the themes presented in sand scenes, areas of transference and countertransference and the symbolic process as it unfolds.  Consultation is important and necessary for a deeper understanding of the Sandplay process for both Sandplayer and clinician. If you are interested in presenting a case for the consultation part of the Free Member training, please contact us at  There are a limited number of time slots available. Specific guidelines are required, but anyone is welcome to present case material.
